Chapter I (2026-10-12 patch)

Orbis: Hytale's world and the Echo you play in

Orbis is the name of Hytale's world. During Early Access, the place you actually walk is the Echo of Orbis (also called Echoes of Orbis in official copy). Official statements and community map data below were read on 2026-10-29; the launch date of a rebuilt Orbis and any new zone names remain not announced. Note: OrbisHytale is a community wiki site, not an official Hypixel property.

Quick answer

Orbis is the whole world; the Echo of Orbis is the procedural instance Early Access players explore. You spawn at the First Gate of the Echo, travel four zones (Emerald Wilds, Howling Sands, Whisperfrost Frontiers, Devastated Lands) plus the ocean, reach the Forgotten Temple for the Cursebreaker story, and enter Chapter I Goblin Breaches that lead to unstable Orbis fragments claimed by goblins.

Orbis versus Echo of Orbis

The official “Hytale is finally here” article (Early Access launched 2026-01-13; see hytale.com/news) says Exploration Mode lets you explore Echoes of Orbis: infinite, procedurally generated worlds with biomes, ancient structures, friendly creatures and dangerous monsters. Finding the Forgotten Temple opens the start of the Cursebreaker storyline, with later updates continuing that arc.

The community wiki (hytalewiki) treats the Echo of Orbis as the main playable place during Early Access, with the spawn called the First Gate of the Echo. In short: Orbis is the setting's world; the Echo is the instance you land in after logging in.

Official marketing and patch copy sometimes say Echoes of Orbis (plural) and sometimes Echo of Orbis (singular). This page treats them as the same Early Access exploration space unless a future official note draws a sharper line. Searches for “Orbis” alone usually mean the setting; searches for “Echo of Orbis” usually mean the playable instance.

The four zones (community data)

Zone names come from hytalewiki; older labels come from the community site OrbisHytale. Four land zones plus the ocean:

Zone 1 Emerald Wilds: plains, forests and swamps; once called Emerald Grove. Zone 2 Howling Sands: desert. Zone 3 Whisperfrost Frontiers: ice and snow, once called Borea by the community. Zone 4 Devastated Lands: volcanoes and scorched ground. There is also an ocean.

Holymod's community table lists sub-zones and main ores: Emerald Wilds — Drifting Plains, Seedling Woods, The Fens (copper, iron); Howling Sands — Golden Steppes, Badlands, Desolate Basin (thorium); Whisperfrost — Frostmarch Tundra, Boreal Reach, The Everfrost (cobalt); Devastated Lands — Basalt Peninsula, Charred Woodlands, Cinder Wastes (Adamantite). Those ore and sub-zone names are community compilations, not official patch text.

Early materials such as Linen Scraps farm well in Emerald Wilds camps—you do not need the desert or tundra first. A typical progression reading of the community ore list is copper and iron in Zone 1, thorium in Zone 2, cobalt in Zone 3, and Adamantite in Zone 4, with the ocean as a separate travel layer rather than a fifth numbered zone on the Holymod table.

Because Holymod and OrbisHytale are community sources, treat sub-zone borders and ore columns as planning aids. If your generated Echo places a camp or ore vein differently, the in-world map and tooltips win over any third-party table.

Spawn and the Forgotten Temple

The First Gate of the Echo (hytalewiki) is the Exploration Mode spawn. The official Early Access article stresses that finding the Forgotten Temple opens the Cursebreaker storyline.

After Chapter I shipped, going to the Forgotten Temple and exploring the new Goblin Lab is how you unlock Chapter content; details are in the Chapter 1 guide. Coffer events tied to breach keys are covered under Veilbound Key.

The temple therefore serves two jobs in Early Access writing: it is the story door described in January 2026, and it is the Chapter I lab entrance described in the October 12, 2026 Out of the Breach notes. Players returning on an older save still use the same landmark; new saves follow the same route.

Chapter I: Orbis fragments and Goblin Breaches

The official Chapter I article says the portal leads to “an unstable fragment of Orbis that the goblins have claimed,” regenerates on every entry, and that the Void eventually pushes you out; you can push the Void back and upgrade the Goblin Breach Console in the Goblin Lab for more time. The article ends with “We'll see you in Orbis!”

Official patch notes add that after a few nights, or after a player investigates the disturbance at the Forgotten Temple, breaches begin appearing in the Echo of Orbis, and Void creatures no longer spawn at night in the Echo of Orbis. Full breach flow: Goblin Breach guide.

That wording matters for search: a Goblin Breach is not a fifth open-world zone on the Holymod list. It is a portal into a regenerating fragment of Orbis claimed by goblins, entered from the Echo you already inhabit. Time pressure and Void push-out rules live on the breach side; the four surface zones stay the overworld map.

A future rebuilt Orbis

The community site OrbisHytale (labelled here as community paraphrase) says Early Access uses the older V1 world generator while V2 rebuilds Orbis from scratch, and that old worlds should remain accessible when the new Orbis is ready. When that new Orbis ships: not announced—no official date was found for this page.

Holymod states Hypixel has not published names or dates for new zones → this page writes: new zones: not announced. Do not treat community speculation as a release calendar.

Until an official post names a ship window, keep building on your current Echo: Forgotten Temple progress, breach upgrades and zone ores all apply to the world you already have. Community notes that old worlds remain enterable after a rebuild are helpful for anxiety, but they are still community notes—not a migration FAQ from hytale.com.

Names and older labels

Emerald Wilds was once called Emerald Grove in community writing; Whisperfrost Frontiers was once called Borea. Those older names still appear in old posts and OrbisHytale articles—map them carefully when you read secondary sources. OrbisHytale itself is a community wiki, not an official site.

If a guide still says Emerald Grove or Borea, check the date and cross-walk to Emerald Wilds or Whisperfrost Frontiers before you change your route. Official Chapter I and Early Access articles on hytale.com are the place to confirm story landmarks; community maps are the place to confirm zone nicknames and ore columns.
